domain without www. ?

  I just purchased my domain etc, but realized I did not include the www. portion so now it will be without it? I assumed the www. was a part of the domain name, do I need to cancel it and start over? Sorry, and thank you for your help.

  We drop the www. from all domains on WordPress.com. However, anyone who types in www. before your domain name will still be taken to your site:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping
