  Hello! I would like to know if it is possible to use a different domain name with my free wordpress.com plan, without joining a prenium plan. I do not need any of the other premium features, and was hoping there was a way to pay a reduced rate, just for the custom domain name.

  I’m afraid a paid plan is required to get/map/transfer a domain for a WordPress.com site. The (cheaper) Personal plan would work too though.

  Thank you, is not there any other cheaper option for doing only that?, i heard about especific payments options for around 18 euros per year.

  If you do change the website name to a custom domain by purchasing a Personal plan then there is an annual charge for domain renewal after the first year of your plan. This cost is listed in the link you provided above and is in addition to the cost of your Personal plan renewal.
