Domain wrongly deleted for migration
-
Hello,
Sorry in advance for my dumb request.I created a website on WP.com this morning. After realizing it would not meet my requirements, I decided to migrate and decided to ask for a refund. I stupidly deleted the domain “teleidesis.com”, which seems unavailable since that decision (clientTransferProhibited). I wish to know if it is just a question of time before the situation is cleared, and I am able to use it again with my new host, or if it is a definitive decision.
If possible, I would like to cancel that deletion and keep the said domain name.
Thanks a lot,

Hi lavilleyv,
I’m tagging “modlook” to get a staff’s attention to help you out. Please be patient as they will get back to you as soon as they can.
Hope this helps. Thanks!

Hi –
I’ve restored the domain to the account. You won’t lose it now.
Once the domain is 60 days old you will be able to transfer it to the provider of your choice. This is an ICANN regulation that we aren’t able to work around. During this 60 day period, you can still use the domain with another service. You just can’t transfer it outright. What you’ll do is edit the name servers on the domain through your WordPress.com dashboard. This will point the domain to the other service.
Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Josh and Liz, thank you very much for your quick support !
My only concern now is : how to proceed to point and use the domain with my new provider ?
As I don’t have access to the domain page, I can’t modify any settings.
Do I need to go through another upgrade plan to gain this access back ?
Guess I should have accepted that 22$ procedure to keep my domain name… -
Can you tell me more about why you can’t sign in to the account? Have you tried to reset the password?
-
Hi,
I have no problem to sign in.
But I have no way to edit the name servers on the domain, since I have no website anymore. Thus, no domain page.
Do I need to start a new site for free, just in order to access this feature ? -
I restored the domain to your WordPress.com user account. You should be able to access it under My Sites or the Domains tab of the account.
-
Hi,
Sorry but I am totally unable to access it under My sites, or the domain tab.
I created another website, which I may use soon for other purposes, using the free plan. Even with this solution, my previous domain doesn’t show up under any tab. -
What happens if you clear your cache and cookies in the browser? Then sign back in to your lavilleyv account?
-
I’ve already tried. Nothing changes.
I can only see this domain name in “Manage purchases”, but I can’t interact with it. Below is a warning saying : “You are no longer a user on Teleidesis.com and cannot manage this purchase.”
-
Hi there,
The domain was still linked to the site you had deleted. That’s why you were not able to manage it.
I’ve moved it over to the other site in your account, so you should now see it in both Purchases and at My Site ->Domains.
