  Hello WordPress.

  I was very frustrated today, when I have bought myself a nice template and then after registering a domain via wordpress I have found out, that you won’t let me put in any plugins or my own themes… So I was like, well I am going to cancel my domain and get it elsewhere and then just map it.

  But at this point the domain is still not available even though it has been deleted and I received my refund (thank you). I was wondering if there is some time needed (24 hours?) for the databases to see that it has been cancelled.

  So there are 2 things I would like you to help me with:
  1) fully cancel this domain, so I can buy it from another host and map it to wordpress afterwards – please, don’t inform me about potentially losing the domain forever, I have read that and it makes no sense
  2) Explain me the process of domain cancellation, please

  If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.

  Therefore I suggest to transfer the domain instead. This guide explains how to transfer the domain name to another registrar, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/
