Domain/Address Change
-
Hi!
My Teaching Assistant set up a blog for our course and used her name as a temporary domain while we figure out the right one. She made me an Admin of the site and I would like to change the domain to “formalsystems”. I do not mind “wordpress” in the domain but I can not change it based on the instructions found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/When I enter the MyBlogs page and hoover over the blog name, there is no change address function. Is there another way to do this?
Also, the blog is very developed and I do not want to lose content if we change names. Will this be a problem if we do? (Besides links to the our old site?)
Thank you for your help.
Best,

Hi! Here’s a potentially useful tutorial:

Thanks for the quick reply but I am not interested in purchasing a domain, just changing the address to formalsystems.wordpress.com from sassinemarija.wordpress.com

That’s correct. Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under their email address, who is the original Admin of the blog, and who purchased the upgrades for the blog. That blog owner can change the blog address.
