  Hi WordPress Forum

  I have previously used a particual site-name on wordpress. I gave it up a year ago – didn’t pay and lost it. I have now re-bought it – exact same name – everything.

  My problem is, when I try to create a new site on wordpress in the new (old) domain-name, I’m told it’s already taken. That’s sort of true. It was me – before. How do I get access to my own (old) site adress – from a position of a re-buy?

  Hi there,

  What is the domain URL of the domain you re-bought? Did you buy it at another host? If so, that is why it is coming up as already purchased. Therefore, if you want to use the domain with a WordPress.com site, you must point the nameservers and map the domain over to your WordPress.com site:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Same host, so it not that…

  And i’m trying to redirect from my provider towards wordpress, but is told that I have to register the site name at WordPress before they will allow it – and thats what’s not allowed on wordpress…

  Did you buy it at another host?

  staff-doublebassd is asking if you bought the domain here at WordPress.com. If you bought the domain from somewhere else then it can be mapped to https://infrontofonesnose.wordpress.com/ (and transferred here after 60 days if you wished) by purchasing a WordPress.com plan.

  staff-doublebassd is asking if you bought the domain here at WordPress.com. If you bought the domain from somewhere else then it can be mapped to https://infrontofonesnose.wordpress.com/ (and transferred here after 60 days if you wished) by purchasing a WordPress.com plan.
