Domaine Transfer

    I have a website up and running right now. I want to keep it active until I have finished building my WordPress website. If I transfer the domaine now will my current site still be active?

    Hi jobellagirls,

    If your existing site needs to remain up and running using a certain domain, you can continue using the free address on WordPress.com (jobellagirls.wordpress.com) until the new site is finished.

    When you are ready to make the switch, the existing domain can be mapped or transferred to WordPress.com. Once the process is complete, the old site will no longer be available at that domain.

    If you need to upgrade plans in order to access certain features (premium themes, additional storage space etc) before then, the domain credit it includes can be left unused until a later date.
