Domainname

  Hi,
  I bought a domainname at your site, vedettblond.nl. But I can’t connect it to my wordpress blog. I know I have to link my domain to the nameservers of wordpress.com. But yesterday I couldn’t change it. I didnt’t had the possibility of changing the name services. Because in my domain management it doesn’t exists. Today I cannot go into my domain management at all. Now both of my sites are not working. At vedettblond.nl I get hostnet saying this domain is already registered. When I typ in vedettblond.wordpress.com the site is automatically linked to hostnet saying that vedettblond.nl is already used. Therefrom I think vedettblond.nl is already linked to vedettblond.wordpress.com, but why does it not work? I really don’t know how to fix this and the forums are not sufficient enough unfortunately. I hope you can help me out!

  Hi Elseniek,

  It looks like you purchased the domain mapping upgrade for the domain vedettblond.nl. This upgrade is used in scenarios where you’ve already purchased a domain elsewhere and just want to use it with your WordPress.com site. Changing the name severs would be something that happens at the registrar where you purchased the domain, not at WordPress.com. This is broken down a bit more here:

  Do you already own the domain? If not, it looks like we’ll need to setup a different domain as this one is already in use.

  Hai thanks for your answer. Yes I do own the domain http://www.vedettblond.nl already. I use it now in blogger but I would like to set everything over into WordPress but nothing seems to work.. In WordPress they said they could only work with vedettblond.nl without the www. So I bought the vedettblond.nl. But I have no idea or I already own this one or if I was trying to buy the same thing which is not possible? What I would prefer is to take the http://www.vedettblond.nl out of blogger. But I cannoy find any name serverses in WordPress to change it at my domain host. I really hope you can help me out!

  Thanks for clarifying! So, in order for your domain (vedettblond.nl) to work, you will need to visit the registrar where you purchased the domain. You will need to change the name servers to the following:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Can you try logging into where you originally made the payment for the domain?

  Regarding the “www” version, when your domain is used at WordPress.com, we automatically strip the www version and use the vedettblond.nl version instead. This cannot be changed.
