Domains

Hello, i was wondering if anyone could help me with my domain. I have a registered domain for brodiecox.com through Godaddy and it expires in 2016 around april.
The problem i have is that WordPress keeps informing me that it runs out april 10th this year (2015)… can anyone help fix this or should i just leave it as a glitch? I can’t find any answers on the current forums or help/info pages. Thanks heaps!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When you purchase a domain mapping upgrade to map to an existing domain that you purchases somewhere else you have two upgrades to do every year. One is with the registrar you purchased the domain from. The is with WordPress.com for the upgrade for the mapping. Though domain mapping upgrades so span the whole year the process of upgrading them begins a month in advance of their expiry so if anything goes wrong we do not lose the domain.

ok, so basically if i go through Godaddy and purchase WordPress through there (if its more cost effective) that would cut out me having to upgrade two separate accounts?

Yes but there are other differences to consider.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and get advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

ok thank you, you’ve been very helpful. Another question do you have to pay for an .ORG account?

See here for web hosting http://wordpress.org/hosting/
For self-hosting figure an average monthly total cost (including cost of a domain name) of about $10 to $25 generally, but that all depends on storage and bandwidth requirements. Know that there is no Staff support. You will be responsible for all upgrades, installations, backups and troubleshooting on a self hosted WordPress.ORG install. If you install a theme or a plugin that negatively affects your blog, then you have to figure out what went wrong and fix it. -
Domain Registration and Domain Mapping are distinct services and both are required to have an existing domain work with your WordPress.com site.
For more information about the differences between domain registration, hosting, and mapping, please see our page All About Domains:

If you choose to, you can renew your Domain Mapping Upgrade here:
https://brodiecox.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades
If you no longer require this Upgrade, let me know, and I will be happy to remove it for you.
