If I switch from example.wordpress.com to example.com, will I, if I wish to for some reason down the road, be able to switch back to only example.wordpress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
If you add a custom domain on your site your free address will still also work, and should you ever cancel the domain your site will go back to using the free address again.
Just keep in mind that any example.com links you shared online will not work any more should you no longer own example.com.

Hey kokkieh:
Thanks . . . Now, when you say that any example.com links I had shared would not later work, does that include all the posts I had posted during example.com? -
Correct. Posts you published while your custom domain was active, is shared using the link to your custom domain, not the free domain. So any link containing the custom domain will stop working the moment you cancel the custom domain.
The posts will still exist on your site at the free address, but any links to them on other websites using the custom domain link won’t work any more.
