I have a domain registered with GoDaddy. I use WordPress for my blog. I see that I can transfer my GoDaddy domain to WordPress. What is the benefit (pro/con) of transferring the domain from GoDaddy to WordPress?

It’s more a personal preference type of thing, really.
Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
So, basically, are you an “all of your eggs in one basket” type of person, or “not all of your eggs in one basket”? :)
