  Hi,

  I have a wordpress.com URL – shiwanigurwara.com. I have paid for domian registration, domain mapping and a premium account.

  I am in the process of moving hosting to bluehost.com and the website is getting developed right now. I paid for 2 years for basic web hosting, codeguard basic and SiteLock Security. This site is not live yet!

  I get a mail from wordpress.com asking me to renew my subscription.
  Does this mean that the domain will no longer be with me if I do not subscribe?

  Can you help me with how I can ensure that my domain (shiwanigurwara.com) stays with me?

  When I buy web hosting with blue host – does that ensure my domain name? OR is domain registration and domain hosting different?

  Is domain registration not a one time thing? Will I have to keep paying for life to ensure that this domain remains with me?

  Please help this non-techie person!

  Hi Shiwani –

  I think that you’re ok to disregard. Last year on 2019-01-28 we renewed your plan and domain for 5,460 ₹.

  Currently, the domain is not connected to WordPress.com. It’s registered by FastDomain and hosted by BlueHost.
