  Can I transfer my domain away from wordpress?

  Hi there, I believe it should be possible to do so!

  Just to confirm, you only want to transfer your domain to an other registrar, but you would like to keep customize your site through WordPress.com? In this case, you can find information about the steps here:

  Hi there,

  What is the domain you want to transfer? The account you’re using to post here is only a day old, doesn’t own any sites, and has never bought any domains with us.

  If you own a domain under a different WordPress.com account, you need to be logged into that account first before you’ll be able to transfer the domain – only the account that owns a domain can start the domain transfer process.
