Hi, I would like to self host.
My service provider sent me the following:
‘Hello Ronelle,I could see that you have installed WordPress from Softaculous on the domain ‘eastparkpharm.co.za’.
However, if you want to load the domain from Afrihost server, the nameservers must be changed to Afrihost. Please confirm this change the nameservers.
You will have to contact WordPress to obtain the backup of the domain. Once they provide you with the backup, please upload the backup to the domain via FTP and we shall restore the backup file.’
Please will you assist in this?

https://eastparkpharm.wordpress.com/ and eastparkpharm.co.za are not the same site. You had eastparkpharm.co.za connected to your WordPress.com site via the domain mapping upgrade, but I see you’ve cancelled that and it’s not currently connected to any site.
Do you want your site at eastparkpharm.wordpress.com to appear at the domain, eastparkpharm.co.za, or do you want to move the content on eastparkpharm.wordpress.com to a self-hosted WordPress website hosted at Afrihost?
If you want the first option I can restore the domain mapping upgrade and Premium Plan which you cancelled two days ago, as that upgrade is paid through September next year.
If you want the second option you can create an export file of your WordPress.com site’s content via this link:
https://eastparkpharm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=export-choices
Then you need to point your domain to Afrihost by resetting the name servers to theirs, install the WordPress.org software on your hosting plan with them, and import the file to Tools ->Import in your dashboard there. An FTP backup like they asked for is not possible with WordPress.com sites, as only the content can be exported here, not the entire site.

I would be so grateful if you can restore the domain mapping upgrade for me! Cancelling was not a smart move!

I’ve restored the mapping and Premium Plan, so your WordPress.com site is now again showing at https://eastparkpharm.co.za/. If that’s what you want, you don’t need to make any other changes on Afrihost’s end. Just make sure that you keep renewing the domain registration with them :)
