domains and mapping

  I currently have a custom domain, and mapping from the .wordpress extention.

  I’d like to get a new custom domain. Will the mapping I currently use redirect people from BOTH the .wordpress AND my current domain? Or will I need use separate mapping for both?

  Do you want to add a second mapped domain name to an existing WordPress.COM blog that already has a domain name mapped to it?

  Yes you can map more than one domain name to the same WordPress.COM blog – but only one name can be “Primary” i.e. the one that is displayed in the address bar of a visitors browser

  i want to drop the one I have now, but redirect the dropped one and the original .wordpress to go to the new one

  You should be able to map the new domain name to your existing WordPress.COM blog (this is the site you want to “redirect to” I am assuming) – then set the new domain name as the Primary – everything goes to your base WordPress.COM blog and the new domain name shows in the browser window
