I purchased the domain customizedgossip.com and its not connecting to the site.

That domain is correctly registered and connected to your WordPress.com site at anthonyrivers3.wordpress.com.
It’s not showing in the browser address bar because it’s not set as the primary domain on the site yet. You can update that by going to My Site ->Manage ->Domains:

When I log in, I don’t see this domain as an option. I figured out how to switch domains as the primary but this domain is not even showing up.

Did you cancel your WordPress.com Personal Plan. I see that is no longer on your account and you received a partial refund.
To clarify, if you do not have a plan on your site, it is not possible to set the custom address as “primary” because sites without a plan use the “WordPress.com” URL only.
That is why you see the message here: https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/customizedgossip.blog/edit/anthonyrivers3.wordpress.com
As soon as you add back the Personal Plan (or higher) you will be able to set your site to use the custom address.

I notice that you mention customizedgossip.com in your post here, but that is a domain you have with us under a different login, yes?
I see http://customizedgossip.com/ appears in our system, but is not associated with your @anthonyrivers3 account, but under a different login.
Did you need help with customizedgossip.blog instead? That is the URL I see under this login, but to get help with customizedgossip.com you will need to switch to your other account.
