domains, hosting and plugins

  Hi everyone.

  I don’t understand something. Someone I know has the plugins feature, but they haven’t published their site yet. How do you do this? His site URL looks like : 6e3.2f3… etc… its a weird code..

  did he still need to buy a domain?

  is it hosted yet? I know if i type in the code I can view it on my computer.

  Your friend has a WordPress.ORG install – depending on his host maybe he can sort of get by without a domain name – but static IP addresses are going away and a domain name is much easier to find that a series of strange numbers
