Domains working with MS Office365

  • Unknown's avatar

I use MS Office365. After reading (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/redirecting-office365-website-to-wordpress-blog?replies=4), I added the two “A records” as specified and it still does not work, even after an hour as it suggests.

After previously not being able to get it working with the domain on wordpress.com, I would rather keep the domain at 1and1.com and have it redirect the management of the domain to Office365.com, and then have Office365.com redirect the web to rhodesholdings.wordpress.com. How would I accomplish this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Just to clarify what you’re looking to accomplish, you would like the following:

    – Domain registration for rhodes-holdings.com to stay at 1and1.com
    – Content management to remain at Office365.com

I’m not quite clear on the last part – “have Office365.com redirect the web to rhodesholdings.wordpress.com”. Where would you like to manage your content – Office365 or WordPress.com? If it’s the former, you can just leave the domain pointed to your Office365 management system and publish from their. If it’s the latter, all of your content will be managed through WordPress.com. You would need to map your domain to WordPress.com (looks like you’ve done that). Then, you can edit/add posts from your WordPress.com dashboard. If you have a custom email address set-up, you can just move your email records to WordPress.com following the instructions here:

    Manage Your DNS Records

Does that make sense? Please let me know if I misunderstood your question! I’m happy to help more with a bit of clarification.

I need the DNS to be managed by Office365, but the content of the website to be managed by WordPress. Help?

    Hey Robert,

In order to manage your content through WordPress.com, you’ll need to direct your name servers here. As a result, WordPress.com is now the place where you would manage your DNS records, including any email records.

I believe you’re asking if you can use your Office365 email account with your custom domain when it is mapped to WordPress.com. If so, the answer is yes! We have instructions on how to set that up here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-email-through-office-365/

Basically, you will just need to add some extra records to your domain at WordPress.com.

Is that what you’re looking for?
