  I would like to make a website, but there are only two domain options. I currently have a website host and a domain name. I only want to create a website so I can download it to my main website host. What option should I pick, or is there a way to override these options? Thank you so much.

  Hi there,

  You are posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. If you create a site with us, it will be hosted with us, using our modified version of the open source WordPress software.

  If you’re trying to develop site to upload to a server at another hosting provider, then you’re in the wrong place – it’s not possible to create sites like that using WordPress.com.

  To do that, you instead need to either install the WordPress software locally on a virtual server on your computer using software like MAMP, or else you need to ask your hosting provider if they provide a staging environment where you can work on the new site before deploying it to production/your live site.
