Domanin question

    Hi! I just created an account last night. In the beginning of my search, I was going to create a domain name for $18.00 a year or something like that. Then I realized I was looking under the website creation page. So, I switched to the blog page, chose a free theme and created an account. When I chose my blog name it gave me a free domain with ‘.wordpress.com’ at the end. I would like my own domain name. I do not want it say ‘.wordpress.com’ however, it looks like with the blogs the cheapest plan is $99. Is this correct? I cannot afford to pay that much so how can I create my own domain?
