Donate button and content download with Premium account

    I’m looking to set up an account, but I need some quick info to determine if WordPress meets my needs.
    I will be producing some flight-sim content that I A, need to make available to people via download links on my page, and B, I need a clear “Donate” button linked to my PayPal account that will appear on the page/pages.

    I’m not allowed to commercialize content for this sim, but I can produce content and ask for donations.
    So I’m looking for a platform to do this on.
    Before I pay and get rolling, I want to make sure I’m going with the right service here.

    Any insight appreciated.

    Just be aware that if your WordPress.com site Privacy setting is set to Public, all your content, including your media files will be crawled and indexed by search engines. You might want to host your download files on a different site that isn’t crawled by search engines. You can either set up a second Private WordPress.com site for that purpose or host your files on file sharing providers, like dropbox, box, etc.

    Also, you didn’t mention which “WordPress” you mean. Have a look at our guide to the difference between WordPress.com (where we are) and the standalone WordPress (org) software. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ This may give you more information so you can make an informed decision about what best works for your needs.
