Don’t know what user account owns the product

  Am trying to pay for a site renewal but keep getting the message – ‘Sorry, this user account does not own the product you are trying to renew.’ Management of the website has been passed on to different people as members of the group have left. Can you transfer the product to a new user account so the renewal can be paid or find out what the original account is that owns the product as we may still have contact with the person who set it up? thanks

  Hi ypswebsite,

  The upgrades for ypspandc.com are owned by another user of the site. The owner will need to login to their account and renew — upgrades can only renewed by the account they were purchased through. Do you recall which account originally upgraded?

  Can you transfer the product to a new user account so the renewal can be paid or find out what the original account is that owns the product as we may still have contact with the person who set it up?

  If you have a way to get in touch with that person, please ask them to contact us so we can look at transferring the plan to another WordPress.com account.

  They will need to transfer the domain itself though, that isn’t something we can do for them. But we can guide them through that process if they contact us.
