Don't Like the Way Posts in Reader Appear When You Click on Them

  I don’t like the change WordPress made to how posts open when you click on them from the reader. I prefer to be linked straight to a blog, as opposed to linking to a generic page with the post’s text. What’s the point of a blogger putting in time to create a good looking blog theme/layout if readers can’t see it?? On top of that, this feature makes browsing through the reader more confusing. WordPress is confusing and cluttered as it is with all the other unnecessary new features.

  Please go back to the way the reader was before. I understand that if you click around a bit, you can get to the blog a post comes from, but why should we have to click around??

  The point is that wordpress.com gets more clicks by setting this up the way it is set up and the way it is set up cannot be changed.   I get what you’re saying. But I still hope that they eventually change it back to the way it was!

  Hi there,

  Like you, I prefer to read posts on the actual blogs rather than in the Reader. If you look at the post preview in the Reader, you will see two links at the bottom-left below each post’s preview. If you click the “Visit” link, it will open the post on the actual blog in a new tab in your browser.

  As for making that the only way people can view your posts, that can’t be done without a workaround: If you add a more-tag in your posts only the part before the tag will display in the Reader, with a link visitors have to click to get to your actual post.
