  Hi, I don’t want to register a domain yet. I’m just trying to learn wordpress and need somewhere to work on the tutorials. How to do that?

  Why not create a free site https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and experiment.
  You can upgrade that site to a paid plan later to enable you register a custom domain if you decide you need one.
