Don't want to display entire posts

  For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to stop my entire posts from showing on my front page. I only want an excerpt to be displayed, with a ‘full article’ (or similar) button to read the rest of the post. My posts are generally long and it’s bloody annoying. Any help is appreciated.

  Either change to a theme that does that automatically or use the More tag, the one that looks like a dotted line crossing paper. Put the cursor where you want the break to be and then hit the button.

  Ah, thank you very much raincoaster.

  I’ve just used the more tag, I was completely unaware of it. I’m still unaware of 99% of wordpress, I don’t even know how to use an avatar/default thumbnail for my website.
