don’t want to upgrade

    I pressed the upgrade button by mistake but I don’t want to upgrade, I’m being charged for it, I just want to go with the wordpress free site, please help me in this regard.

    You can manage all of your WordPress.com purchases by visiting Your Account Profile. Read the original contribution here:

    If you wish to choose a lower plan, please cancel automatic renewal by following these steps:

    https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/#automatic-renewal

    When it comes time for renewal, the old plan will be removed and you can purchase a different plan.

    If you would like to downgrade immediately, please contact us again.

    If you are looking to downgrade from a Business or eCommerce Plan, please contact us again. Be aware that downgrading from one of these plans means:

    You would lose any custom plugins or themes you had installed as well as any premium features not available in the lower level plan.
    Your site will also revert to the way it looked before you installed the first plugin.

    Hi there, I’m not certain I understand. Did you actually pay for the upgrade plan and want a refund or did you want to remove it from your cart?

    If you paid for the upgrade and want to cancel, you can do so in your My Purchases https://wordpress.com/me/purchases Refunds are available for 30 days from purchase on everything but registering a Custom domain, which you need to cancel within 96 hours of registration.

    If you didn’t pay for the upgrade and still see it in your checkout cart, https://wordpress.com/checkout/ you can remove it there by clicking on the EDIT link and then the trash can icon to the right of the upgrade plan fee.

    Hi @cintiamillan Thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread. However, please look over any predef replies you are copying from someone or someplace else in the forum or support site so it is relevant to the question being asked. @viulubaby specifically asked about continuing with the free plan after accidentally clicking the upgrade button, so it’s not clear to me how all the renewal and downgrading information applies here.

    The account you used to post here hasn’t bought anything from us, and has not been charged. You can only be charged if you complete the checkout process and provide us with a payment method.

    If you just added an upgrade to your cart, you can remove it as @justjennifer explained above.
