Don’t want “Uncategorized”
-
I’ve converted all my Categories to Tags. But some of my posts had “uncategorized” and I can’t seem to get rid of that on those posts. Also, how do I alter the display on each post so that Categories are not shown (all they’ll say is “uncategorized”

You can’t change it retroactively, but you can change it in future. Go to Options—>writing and set the default post category to anything you like. The default, however, only shows up when you don’t use any other category. If you use another, you’ll have to tick the default as well.
Also, but off topic, you can link your name to your blog if you go to your Profile and put the blog under “website”. Then it’s clickable every time you leave a comment, whether here or in other WP blogs. But thanks for giving us the link as you did; it ALWAYS helps.

The one thing to remember is that each post has to have at least one category assigned to it or the system will assign one on its own.

if you don’t make a category yourself, it will go to uncategorized. however, if you do, your category will be what you put.

Go to my dashboard > Categories > Uncategorised. In that you will come across an option which will enable you to change/edit the name of categories and also create one. If you create one, uncategorized shall be removed.
Hope this will be of potential help.

uncategorized does not get removed by magic.
Before you remove it, take care to create a category which you’ll define as default category for posts (the category which will be assigned per default to new posts if ou forget to assign a category).
You can do that under “Options” > “Writing”.
If you delete uncategorized without defining another default category you’ll get a “ghost” category with a nuber instead of the name (we have a couple of threads about it).
