Dotted Box around Links (Sela Theme)

Hi, I’m using WordPress free and am currently using the Sela theme.

On the demo of the site, when I clicked on links or buttons, I didn’t see any dotted box around the link. However, when I activated the theme on my website and clicked on links in the nav bar and the social media menu, I keep seeing the dotted boxes.

I know this can be done through custom css but as I’m using the free version of WordPress, I’m not able to access the CSS customizer. Is there a way to resolve this?

This is the link to my blog in case anyone needs it. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi there,

The dotted boxes you see are the link styles for the a:visited state and the a:active state.

The only way to change or remove those styles is to use custom CSS, but that will require the Premium or Business plan.

Hmm okay. I was just confused because the demo of the theme didn’t have it and was wondering if I had messed up the css somehow. Thanks!

  • You’re welcome!

Yes, I noticed that in my browser. I assume the default style in your browser (I use Firefox) is different from the default style in the demo window. Anyway, I’m glad this brought some clarity :-)
