double appearance of a post

  • Unknown's avatar

I have encountered an odd little problem in a site that I have created:

    https://wwc1961.wordpress.com/

I have specified that the first post (“Introduction”) should appear at the top of the blog — which it does, but that post now appears twice. You will not detect the repetition if you type in the search box, but you will see the second appearance if you type control-f followed by “Aufderhar.”

How can I suppress this repetition of the post?

    Bill

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

P.S. I’m not sure why, but the post above (at the end) gives the wrong blog. The rignt one is what I have listed in my note.

  • Hello Bill,

Happy to help you with this.

I can’t say that I’m able to replicate the double appearance of Introduction when I first visit the site.

I also can’t see it when doing the search for “Aufderhar.”

At which point is the second appearance exactly?

    Many thanks.

The first appearance of the Introduction is of course at the top of the blog; the second is almost at the very end (it requires a lot of scrolling to get there) — to be more precise, it’s the second post that I created.

For the introduction, I of course checked “Stick to the top of the blog.” But I have an uneasy feeling that there may also be another command such as “always display this post.” Perhaps something like that makes the introduction appear twice?

  • Hi there,

I see the double post that you are referring to when I scroll all the way to the bottom. This is a potential issue that we have are looking into and have reported to our developers internally.

I have added your issue to the report and we will contact you whenever we receive an update on the issue.

    Thank you!
