Double authentication: Not able to access my website
-
I hav installed a plugin ‘Two Factors’ by Plugin Contributors on my website to receive emails as authetication method. But now I am locked out of my WordPress site due to the authentication email not being received. I need to disable the plugin ‘Two Factors’ by Plugin Contributors that I previously set up on my website or use alternative methods to regain access but how? I don’t know what to do.

Hi there!
If you can’t access the dashboard the only way to deactivate the plugin would be through a file manager from your host or through sFTP (You might need to contact your host for credentials). Once you’re able to access your host files, you can follow these steps:
- Navigate to the plugins directory: Go to
wp-content/plugins. - Rename the plugin folder: Locate the folder named
two-factor(or similar) and rename it to something liketwo-factor-disabled. This will deactivate the plugin.
That being said, I see your site is hosted with AWS EC2 (ap-east-1) rather than WordPress.com so I can only share some general guidelines and recommendations since we’re not able to access the site. Take into account that by migrating your site with us you can enjoy our hands-on specialized WordPress support which could further help you with situations like this one and way more.
If this might be something you would be interested in, don’t hesitate to answer the thread :)
