Double-billing on domains?

  • Unknown's avatar

Just as I thought, whois shows that my domain expires NEXT YEAR. I have TWICE paid WordPress, last year and earlier this year, for my tiny, barely used site, only to discover WordPress has it blocked (no, you can’t get to it the other way, despite your claim) with a banner that claims the domain is expired. IT IS NOT, and I have public records and witnesses that show and that know it’s not. What is going on, WordPress? Clerical error? General incompetence? Extortion? Is it time to blog and call lawyers? While I dig into my records to see how much I’ve paid (and again, the domain HAS NOT EXPIRED as anyone can see) I would appreciate an explanation why my little site is being held hostage for a fee to renew a domain THAT HAS NOT EXPIRED.
