Double posting to Daily Prompt page

When I do a daily prompt, sometimes it double posts my topic when I update my post because of something. I didn’t change the URL so it should show as the same. If I am editing it is usually something that isn’t displaying properly or a punctuation/grammar/spelling error I didn’t catch and the built in editor didn’t catch. Todays was Louisiana mistyped as Louisana. https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/ghostwriter/ It’s under “Why would I need a Ghost Writer” Phil Harrison’s Blog

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks much. I figured the staff would have to answer/fix. It seems to be a problem with the way the software is seeing the update.

I looked into this and the two copies of your post were published from different IP addresses, which might be in play. In the cases where you get double posts have you worked on the post from different places or on different devices?

I’m not sure why you are seeing that. I was on the same page, I never left. I didn’t use a IP mask like Zenmate. I hadn’t turned off the DSL. It was in minutes. It’s stagnate IP until we turn off our connections. The only device I use to post on WP is my Windows 7. It was done within minutes on the same computer from the same provider without shutting the DSL off or changing the connection

That is strange, and I don’ t see any similar reports from other people. For the moment, I’d be happy to remove one of the pingbacks for you so you only show up on the page once.

If it happens again, let me know and we can look for patterns.

I’m a beta tester. I break things. The last time I worked with someone, Troy [former programmer for Microsoft] told me I could break anything programmed and find more bugs than anyone he ever worked with. We had several conversations when I told him I loved this feature and he said “That isn’t a feature, it isn’t suppose to be doing that.”

If you want to remove the double post, feel free. It’s done that about 5 times so far since you went to the new system and I’ve been back. Frankly the double posting or fighting off hackers on my own site? I’ll take the double posting.

    I can’t decide if that’s a good superpower or not ;)

Thanks for the report. Since we aren’t seeing a pattern of this behavior we will also let it go for now, but I appreciate you taking the time to let us know about the problem.

Hey they sold the site for 25 million. Troy thought it was a good one.
