Double Spacing
-
I hope this is the right forum for my question. I’m trying to edit a post I published. I used open office to compose my
article, but when I copy and paste the article into the wordpress dashboard it double spaces the sentences, when I
use backspace to correct this it makes the font too small. ThanksThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Never, ever paste from a wordprocessor. They were never designed for the web and do not speak web. They will mess you up every time.
If you use open office, you have to use the “paste as plain text” button on the lower row of icons in the toolbar (small square with a “T” on it) and then do all the formatting in the wordpress editor.
Better yet, why not use a blog client such as Windows Live Writer or BlogDesk? You can compose in them and then when you are happy with it, the blog client will publish the post for you. No need to copy and paste, and the blog clients create clean code, not the messy stuff that comes from open office or MS Word.

@TSP I’m trying to find on open office the “T” you mentioned, but I don’t see it. I’ve looked through the menus as well trying to find a “save as plain text”, but haven’t managed that either. I did just find a “styles and formatting” option that allows for “text body” i don’t know if that’s it or not. I’m using open office 3.2, I run Ubuntu Linux on my
iMac, and have searched for a good blogging tool, the only one I found that I would like
to use is “Blogtk 2.0”, but I’m running into dependency issues trying to get it installed.
I will try some different things, as I have another article ready for publishing.
Thanks for your insight and help. -
The “paste as plain text” button / “T” is in the WP post editor screen, not in Open Office.
