Dowload century gothic font?
-
I believe the Century Gothic font is standard on Mac, but on Windows it is not, except maybe with Office. So will make a good example, but this question applies to any non-native font.
I don’t believe it’s possible with standard html, but is it possible, perhaps with some kind of wordpress plugin or php code, to check if the font is installed, and if not download it off a server, and load into memory before loading the text on the page? So no matter what, every user will see the same font?
Even if not possible on wp.com blogs, perhaps on own hosted?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No not really since you would be downloading and “installing” files to someone’s computer without their permission.
What you can do though is use the typekit fonts and then what happens is the person’s browser will download from typekit any fonts that are not on a person’s computer temporarily so that it can display them in your blog/web pages.
I tried finding you some information on the support pages, but there doesn’t seem to be any and I couldn’t find the official announcement either.
This post by Panos will give you an idea of what is involved.

Ah yes, I had a look at type kit. Not bad, seems to do what I want. No century gothic font available for use, but there is a free option with a trial library.
I will look into implementing this or Google some other options, even ones I may have to buy that you can install fonts on, any font, but as it’s just for a hobby site, I’m not really looking to spend too much money for a font on a website.
Thanks.Still open to other suggestions if any
