Downgrade domain

    I have a custom domain right now. I would like to revert to the ***.wordpress.com domain and no longer pay the $26/yr annual domain fee. I want to make sure I don’t lose the content on my website. What is the best way to do this?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the delayed response. Your content isn’t tied to your domain, so if you let the domain lapse next year, your content will remain safe.

    The only issue would be for visitors who are used to accessing your site via that domain. If the domain lapses, they won’t be automatically redirected to your free *.wordpress.com domain. However, I have good news!

    Our domain pricing has recently decreased, so I’ve adjusted your domain renewal price to $17 CAD for next year. Additionally, as a one-time courtesy, we’ve allowed you to continue using a domain without a paid plan since you’ve been a loyal customer for many years.
