Downgrading

How do I down grade from a premium theme? I have already switched my blog over to a free theme as well as chosen my domain to be brenwall3.wordpress.com instead of brenwall3.com. I want to move to a cheaper or free price this year instead of $99/year which is due to renew in May.

No problem. I see right now that brenwall3.com is registered as part of your WordPress.com Premium package. You would prefer to just renew the domain ($25) and have the rest removed from your account?

Thank you – yes that is all right. If I change my domain name to brenwall3.wordpress.com is there still a charge for that or is it free?

Sure, I can cancel everything for you, including the domain name brenwall3.com
If I do that, your site will go back to it’s default brenwall3.wordpress.com address, and would truly be a “free” blog again.
Would you like me to do that?

Yes, please cancel brenwall3.com and I will use the default brenwall3.wordpress.com.
Will everything under the old domain brenwall3.com be re-directed to the new domain brenwall3.wordpress.com? I just want to make sure that my old blog entries will still be there.

No, cancelling the domain means that it will not redirect. In fact, it is available for purchase again (after a short period) so there is the possibility that someone may register it again and apply it to their site instead.
That said, you will not lose any of your old posts, the URL for those will just change from something like this:
http://brenwall3.com/2014/02/07/birthday-at-the-pyramids/
to this:
So the posts themselves will be “moved” to the new URL, but if you have shared links to any of your posts (maybe on Facebook or Twitter) before the change, those older links would be broken from that point forward.
If you are worried about broken links like that, then I recommend renewing your domain for another year. If not, then I can cancel everything.
