Downgrading from the business plan to personal

    I would like to renew my plan but instead of paying for the business plan I would like to downgrade to personal plan

    Many thanks for reaching out.

    In order to purchase the personal plan the site would need to be downgraded from the business plan.

    In order to downgrade your site, we must revert it back to the point when you installed your first plugin or custom theme.

    Your site’s content, theme, and customizations, such as widgets and menus, will return to the state they were before upgrading to the business plan. This process will also remove all plugins and custom themes, as well as any content added through them, and you will no longer be able to add plugins or custom themes to this site unless you upgrade again in the future.

    Ok great – this purchase can now be made via Upgrades > Plans > pick a plan and then proceed.

    @roccake Thanks for reaching back out. It looks like we were advising on a different site under your account, not the kalaxinc.wpcomstaging.com site.

    Looking at that account, while you’re an Administrator on that site, you’re not the Administrator that originally made the Business plan purchase.

    To downgrade the site, we must confirm from the account owner that:

    1. Any content (pages, posts, media, comments, etc) added after adding outside themes and plugins will be lost. This means your site content will be deleted.

    2. Any custom content created by plugins and themes will not be carried over.

    3. Plugins and third-party themes can no longer be used.

    4. The site will revert to using the old theme.

    If you have any backups of your site, it would not be able to be restored to a Personal/Premium plan due to the use of plugins, so the site would be starting over from scratch.

    Since we can’t do this revert without authorization from the plan owner, we won’t be able to help you with this via this forums post.

    We’ll reach out via email to the plan owner to confirm these details and continue that way.
