  I can’t open the app on my laptop. The files get downloaded, but they appear just as files in the downloads folder, not as the final app.

  Hi there,

  Are you referring to the WordPress.com desktop app? You need to install the app before you’ll be able to open it – double click on the file you downloaded, and follow the prompts to install it.

  Once it’s installed, Windows should automatically add an icon for the file to the apps list, and possibly to the desktop itself, which you can then click to launch the app.

  Once I install it, it doesn’t appear on my app list or the desktop, just as a downloaded file with no use.

  Are you using the Mac, Windows, or Linux app, and which version of your OS are you on?
