Download a theme

    Good afternoon,

Although I have been blogging since 2013 I consider myself still a newbie, so I am sorry if my question sound a bit stupid – any help would be very much appreciated though. As I want to create another blog, today I was looking at the theme list and I realised that I need to download the theme and install it on my pc. When I launched my actual blog (temptingspoon.com) 3 years ago, I remember only buying the domain and choosing the theme, a pretty straightforward procedure, without the creation of any database or any particular download. I am pretty confused…Would anyone be so kind to give me some help to understand what should I do if I want to have another blog and if I did anything wrong when I started writing my actual one?

Thank you very much for your help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You do not need to download a WordPress.COM theme and themes licensed to run on wordpress.com software are not trnaferable to wordpress.ORG sites.

You simply register a new blog and it will be equipped with the default Twenty Fifteen theme which you can replace with a theme from https://wordpress.com/themes/ of your choice.

You can register as many blogs as you want to under the same username account and associated email address.
    https://en.wordpress.com/signup/

Or you can log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, and register another username account under a different email address and then register blogs under it.

    re: changing themes
Themes are just “skins” on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.

Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes, Browse themes until you find one you like and click the “activate” or the “preview” link, or type in the name of the theme you want to use when it appears.

After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

Note that every theme will have a detailed theme description page with set up instructions and a live demo site page that you can consult. Here’s an example:

    Dear timethief,

Thank you very much for your precious help. I do appreciate that.

I clearly got confused between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

I will follow your instructions for my next blog :)

    Once again, thanks a lot!
