Download audio from my site?
-
I have viewers who want to download audio files from my site rather than play them from my site. I have searched help and forums but no luck.
Does anyone have an idea I can try?

just a friendly ping on this topic. I wonder if anyone has an idea.
I just tried to download audio files from my site and I could not figure it out. Each of them show up on my site as an audio player tool. Click the little Play arrow and the audio starts.
But how do I download that file to my pc or phone from that player tool?
thanks for any help.

UPDATE,
I finally found a solution already in the forum. The ability for a reader to download an audio file residing in WordPress is made possible by the way you upload the media to your page/blog.
I have uploaded many audio files and, when I get to the point of adding/selecting the file from my media library, I always used the “embed media player” option on the right side drop down. This option inserts the nice, neat media player right into my page, but does not provide the reader a way to download that same file.
Today I discovered (what many probably already knew) that instead of selecting “embed media player” choose “add link to media file”. This will insert a link (displayed in the file name) which can be downloaded from your blog/page (right click, save link as, mp3).
I tried it and it works. Thanks forum posters!
