Download Support
-
Hello,
I was hoping to get some support as I’m noticing an error on our website.
We use the plugin ‘Download Monitor’ by Never5, currently running 4.1.1 after recently being pushed to use the latest version with the most recent versions of WordPress…
Previously we used an older version of the plugin to allow visitors to download our product brochures, price lists and corporate profile and it was rare we had any issues, however, since updating a large proportion of our downloads are not loading correctly.
We have edited our pages so that the ID number of the brochure matches its new 4 digit format (it was originally a 2 digit id) but reports from potential customers who have emailed requesting a version of the brochures show that many are either not downloading or are unavailable. After investigating myself, I can confirm that the file download ID and the ID in our code does match up, so I’m unsure where we’re going wrong – whether it’s a hosting issue related to bandwidth, a customer issue based on their own connection to our site, or an issue with the plugin, as the problem has only occurred since the forced update to 4.1.1, we have not reuploaded the files, only changed their ID numbers, as there’s over 100+ files and we are having problems with customers downloading newer brochures that have been uploaded after the update too.
Any help with this would be appreciated as it’s a vital part of websites purpose for business.
Looking forward to your response,
Ryan

Hi Ryan –
You’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support/ for help with your WordPress installation.
Running a stand alone WordPress installation is quite different from what we do here at WordPress.com. https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
I’d also suggest contacting the plugin developer directly if that’s what is causing your error.
