Downloadable themes?

  How do you use the themes you download to your computer? There are the themes you download but I don’t know what to do with the files, it seems like you need your own domain, but its weird becuase they are from wordpress.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We cannot add themes at wordpress.COM, we are limited to the themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes. Themes found on the internet are for self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade, which will allow you to stylize the themes here, but it does not allow you to change the functionality. Since there is no official support for the CSS upgrade, do not buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of CSS. Before buying the upgrade, you can go to appearance > edit CSS and wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try out changes before you buy the upgrade.

  Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

  snap. Is there a way to expand the pages on the themes? Just look at mine it doesn’t take the whole page

  Learn CSS. Use the free Preview to see whether or not the changes you make work well. When they do work, purchase the paid CSS upgrade and apply them.

  If you are talking about the width, many themes are fixed width and are designed to that even people with an 800px wide monitor resolution can see the whole theme and not have to scroll horizontally. It is best to keep your visitors in mind when choosing or modifying the width of a theme. I would not go any wider than 1000px so that people on a 1024px wide resolution can see the whole blog.

  Thanks but I would have to buy the custom one, and I don’t have plans to make that purchase right now.
