downloaded export file does not open

    I’m trying to migrate my wordpress.com site to wordpress.org. I exported the .com files and received an emailed link, which I downloaded. However, when I unzip the files there is only one document that does not open, and I get an error message that tells me I have no data. I tried again; same result. If I try to import this file to my wordpress.org site I get a 405 not allowed error. Any thoughts? What I am missing here?
