Downloaded wordpress site vs blog website

Hello, I’ve set the blog up as a website but now find I want to do more than I seem able to. What is the CCS download programme, if I download that can I move the progress of my current site to there to add more. My particular problem is on the Therapies page as I would like to list the therpists in two columns, but can’t.
I don’t understand what the difference is between the downloaded version and the blog version, apart from that I expect for the downloaded version to have more options. So here is my questions, a.) will the downloaded version give me more options to changes and b.) would there be any charges for moving the site from where it is now or is this even needed. Many thanks, Wien

    Hi,

To create 2 columns, please follow the instructions here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/#columns

For more info about the differences between .com (hosted at WordPress.com) and .org (self-hosted, downloadable version), see here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    To answer your questions:
    a) The self-hosted version will give you more options for changes but if all you want to do is change the layout, you will be better off doing the Custom Design Upgrade (explained below).
    b) If you go with the self-hosted version, you would need to purchase your own hosting and domain name.

If all you want to do is to be able to change the layout,
you might want to look at the Custom Design Upgrade.
This will allow you to customize your CSS as much as you want.

    Hope that helps!
