Downloading mp3 files from the media library – is this possible?
-
I have uploaded an mp3 file into my media library and I would like to download it again. Is this possible? I have managed to delete it from my own computer and need to access it again for another purpose. I am administrator of the website in question.

Hi there!
Yes, you certainly can get the file again. You will just need to follow a few steps.
1. Go to your Media -> Library and click the file name of the mp3 you want to download.
2. Look in the Save module on the left and look for “File URL” (example):
http://d.pr/i/RZPH3. Click your cursor in that File URL field, and use the keyboard shortcuts in this order:
– Ctrl + A (to select all the File URL field)
– Ctrl + C (to copy the File URL)4. Open a new browser tab or window, and use Ctrl + V to paste the URL into your browser’s address bar. Hit enter to have your browser go to the File URL.
Your browser may either start playing the file or prompt you to save the file. If it prompts you to save it, then just modify the save location and click OK.
If the file starts playing, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + S to save the file and follow the same steps in the previous paragraph.
If you’re new to keyboard shortcuts, this reference will be most helpful:
