  • Hi there,

A WordPress website cannot be downloaded to and viewed on a USB device, no.

A WordPress website consists of a number of PHP, CSS and JavaScript files that run on a web server, which then generates HTML content that gets rendered in your browser. And while you can run a WordPress installation locally on your own computer, that needs special software that creates a virtual server on your computer, and if your examiners don’t want to click a link, I’m pretty sure they won’t be willing to download and install software they’ve never heard of before either :)

It’s also not possible to run a WordPress.com site locally like this – that’s only possible with the self-hosted version of the software made over on WordPress.org.

The best alternative I can suggest is to export your site content at Tools ->Export, and then use the service blogbooker.com to convert your site content into a static PDF file, which you can then submit instead. But to be clear, if you do this you won’t be submitting your website. You’ll be submitting only your site content, so the theme, menus, etc, won’t be there.

I hope that helps, but let us know if you have any other questions about this.
