Downloading the Media Content from my Blog

My wife had a catastrophic hard drive failure and lost all of the photos she stored there. This blog contains a good number of the photos she lost from our adoption day.

I see there’s a way to export the site text content but I can’t find any way to download media content in an easier way than just clicking through each one and saving it. Is there another way to accomplish this without spending hours going through this exercise?

I’m a software developer. I’ve downloaded the XML document for the site export and have identified all of the images URL’s necessary to reach each image but the site is issuing a 403 HTTP error (Unauthorized). I’ve tried supplying my credentials but it still issues the 403. I’m kind of at a loss here.

    Thanks.

I’m sorry but there is no means of downloading a WordPress.COM blog Media Library in a single file. You have to capture each image one at a time. Also note that featured images are a feature of only some themes.

    Thanks, timethief. Appreciate the feedback.

I just now got my code to pull all of the image files down individually without me having to sit there doing it one by one. It literally took only 2 minutes to accomplish. :-)

    Thanks again.
