Downloads from media library.
-
Is there a simple way to allow people to download audio files from my media library? I’m trying to put together a password protected page for PR purposes, and to present a hassle-free way for people to download directly from that page, as opposed to me placing a link to a dropbox file, which kind of defeats the purpose of my buying the space upgrade. Since I can’t place widgets on individual pages, I’m not sure what to do.
WordPress hasn’t let me down yet, but this time I need a very timely response if at all possible (in time for a music conference this weekend).
Thanks,

Hi Jon, if you create an audio playlist (described at http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/), then visitors could right-click on each track name to download each file.
An alternative would be to insert direct links to the files into the page, instead of linking to Dropbox. You can find the URL for each file by opening it in the Media Library and looking for the “File URL” in the Save box on the right-hand side.
Does either of those sound like they would work well for your purposes?
