  I can’t seem to get my most recent blog entry out of draft status. I need help

  You mean you hit publish and it’s still in Draft ? That’s pretty odd. Can you explain in detail what you’re doing to get a post out of the draft queue?

  You can edit any draft and change it from draft to Public in the Publish module and click the big blue Publish button to Publish it.
