Draft corrupted during edit, WordPress can’t restore to draft
-
I have been working on a draft for the last 3 days (‘Revisiting old book-friends’), and today the WordPress editor (using Firefox on a Windows 10 desktop) froze in the middle of my edit, and I had to close the tab and reopen a new tab.
Upon reopening a WordPress tab, I could see ‘5’ on the Drafts tab- I had 5 other drafts in my Drafts folder. But upon click of the Drafts tab, WordPress displayed ‘No posts found.’ I made a test draft, and that resulted in the same ‘no posts found’ message.
Using the Classic dashboard, I was able to see all my drafts in the Drafts folder. So I moved the test draft, and the draft that froze, into Trash, and they were clearly viewable there too. I then clicked Restore to Draft. But only the test draft was restored- now the Trash says ‘no posts found’ in the New dashboard. I went to Classic Dashboard again, and could see this frozen draft in the Trash folder, but I received the same ‘Error in restoring the item from Trash’ error when I tried to Restore to Draft.
I attempted to restore to draft on my Android app, and received the error ‘we couldn’t complete this action.’
I tried in Chrome on Windows 10, and received Error HTTP 500, ‘This page isn’t working.’
something is very corrupted. Can you help please??
